Designer, MBA, Dr. rer. pol.. Studied Transportation Design at Pforzheim University and International Marketing at the European School of Business Reutlingen (ESB). His Master's thesis "Design Evaluation System - A methodology to objectify design decisions" was awarded the Otto-Johannsen price. In his dissertation „Brand formative design - development and assessment of product design from a future, brand and consumer perspective“ (summa cum laude) he researched on the success effectiveness of parametric design elements in building multidimensional brands.

Stations at WMF, Designedge USA, BMW Group/ MINI, and Hyundai. He is the exterior designer of the Hyundai Qarmaq concept car.

Jan is professor für creative economy and associate dean at the faculty of design at Pforzheim University.
